About Zimbabwe Provisional Driving Tests
Why Take the Test?
The provisional driving test is a mandatory requirement in Zimbabwe to obtain your learner's permit. This computerized test validates your theoretical knowledge of the Highway Code and prepares you for safe driving practices.
Requirements
- Fee: $20 USD
- Identification: Copy of National ID or Passport
- Age: Minimum 16 years old
- Duration: Approximately 10 minutes
- Pass Mark: 88% or higher

How the System Works
Zimbabwe's computerized provisional testing system is administered by VID (Vehicle Inspection Department). The test is conducted on computers at VID offices nationwide. Questions are randomly selected from a database covering all aspects of road safety and traffic regulations. Results are immediately available upon completion.
